Once the tracking layout is finalized, then determine the number of carriers or rollers needed. Carriers are just that, they carry the curtain along the tracking. The standard style consists of a nylon block and wheels with a swiveling chain and hook attached. A breakaway version is available which acts contrary to its name; the carrier does not break, it flexes. This allows the curtain to detach from the carrier rather than damage the curtain or carrier. Curtain carriers should be spaced every 6" on the curtain. If your curtain is 242" in length, you will want to have 41 carriers. Drop chains and PVC drop strips are available for use when ventilation space is required and a mesh top curtain is not an option. A drop chain is 18" long with custom lengths available; it is constructed of nickel-plated steel. A PVC drop strip is 18" long with a hole on top which slips over the curtain carrier; a plated hook at the bottom connects to the cubicle curtain. Prior to installation, the job should be laid out on the floor in its intended position with all fittings properly located. This will prove valuable in determining whether all required parts are on hand and ensures proper location and placement.
I Disagree, I say you should always start from the middle and work outwards towards the ends. The reason I advise you do it this way is because if you have too many gliders on your track or too many rings on your rod you can easily remove them from the ends of your track or rod. Where if you start from the outside in to the middle the surplus gliders or rings are locked in the middle of your track or rod. Meaning you have to unhang your curtains to remove them. Not much more now and you will have the basics on how to hang curtains. Why do some advise to start from the middle? The reason is on some tracks and rods, but mostly the corded kind. They have what are called overlap arms. These are short arms made of metal or platic with holes in for the last couple of curtain hooks on each leading edge of your pair of curtains (edges that meet at center of your window).
Curtains enjoy a place of honor whether it is a beautiful house, elegant mansion, ritzy restaurant or opulent hotel or a shop/beauty parlor. You name it and they are there. You will find use of curtains right from the olden times. Whether they are there can be due to different reasons. It can either be for functional purposes such as to afford protection from elements such as wind, red - hot sun or winter snows or purely as an outlet for mans creative spirits and décor. Whatever may be the reason curtains and their rods have been a part of human existence and will continue to be there for ages to come. We can broadly categorize curtains in two ways - by style and by fabric. While curtains are used at different places for different purposes, they tend to be categorized by the use they are going to be put into. You can use only a plastic or chemical quoted plastic curtain in a hospital or shower stall where it come into contact with water frequently. Likewise, you cannot use stylish or fancy curtains in your bed room or drawing room.
Once the curtain has been hung it is ready to be embellished. Start with the left or right curtain first and open it up so that it is spread out wide across the window, this way so you can see exactly where you have made the marks and where you are going to place the roses. For this purpose I am going to attach six roses to each curtain using a sequence of three. Remove the plastic backing from the rose by giving it a good pull; your rose will now be in two parts, (the backing and also the rose and stem). Start at the top left hand corner of the curtain, using the awl push a hole through the organza where you have made your first mark, NB its easier and is likely to make a cleaner hole if you hold the fabric on either side of the mark that you made whilst pushing the awl through. Once the hole has been made (ensure that it is big enough for the stem to go through) push the stem of the rose through the hole and secure the rose by pushing the plastic backing back onto the stem which will now be facing the back of the curtain, push it up as far as it will go, this will ensure that the rose wont fall off when its being laundered.
Cubicle Curtain Fabrics Nearly all the manufacturers use fabrics that possess a long-life flame retardant capacity. The curtain cloth would be suspended from a curtain track, curtain carriers, or other types of supporting structures. However, curtain tracking is the most common support for most of the cubicle curtains. In the case of hospital curtains, the cubicle curtain fabric would consist of different types of woven fabrics that would be stitched together. The top portion of the cubicle curtain would be prepared from a mesh fabric to allow light and air flow into the cubicle. The lower portion would be of opaque cloth to furnish complete privacy.
